about

In the old days the family used to sit around the fire at night; talking. Then came TV and dinner moved from the dinner table to a tray on your lap - though still, it was a family event. Now, though, computers are pulling the family apart. We spend all our time on them ... doing what we do.

This song, like Sincerity Machine, is about the perils of falling in love on the internet.

lyrics

When you came into my life I was doing fairly well
and I believed the walls I had built would last
a thousand years or more
It was if a ‘Spring of Teal’ had arrived to tear apart
my quiet life destroy my solitude
and muddy the waters deep.

I’ve got no one to talk to any more
except a window on the screen
I can’t share my thoughts with anyone I know
And I can’t accept what’s plain to see
I can’t accept what’s plain to see

I don’t know what to do and I don’t know what to think
Yet I know the walls I’ve built are crumbling around my feet
It was if a ‘Spring of Teal had arrived to tear apart
my quiet life
destroy my solitude muddy the waters deep

I’ve got no one to talk to anymore
except a window on the screen
I can’t share my thoughts with anyone I know
And I can’t accept what’s plain to see

If this is love I don’t know what to say
If this is love I don’t know what to do
I’m so confused it’s tearing me apart
I’m like an angst ridden teen I’m feeling blue
like an angst ridden teen I’m feeling blue
Feeling blue
